A waterproof layer of coated 8 oz. packcloth lines the boot section, while 1000D Cordura provides crampon-resistant protection along the inside of the leg and around the lower gaiter. AlpenGrip® provides traction and durability in the sole, toe cap, and lower foot areas. A Schoeller Dynamic Extreme leg section functions as breathable protection over insulated pants. Closed-cell foam insulation around the boot area traps heat and can be used with strap-on crampons or step-in models. Dense Poron foam in the insole prevents cold from passing through the sole of your boot. An instep strap inside the gaiter holds your heel down for a snug fit, and allows the Brooks Ranger to function as a bootie in camp.
