Made from lightweight and breathable waterproof Gore-Tex PacLite fabric, the Outdoor Research Celestial Pant is an excellent packable rain pant for hiking, trekking and light climbing. The 15-denier PacLite fabric compresses well for easy packing and all seams are taped for optimal weather protection. It's important to emphasize that the lightweight design of the Outdoor Research Celestial Pant emphasizes portability, but this 7.8-oz. pant (in large size) doesn't have the reinforced knees and seat found in abrasion-resistant climbing pants. Outdoor Research did add extra articulation through the knees in the Celestial Pant to enhance the range of motion, and you'll also find convenient below-the-knee side zippers for easy removal over your hiking and backpacking boots. If going light is just as important as staying dry, the Outdoor Research Celestial Pant should be in your future backcountry adventures.
